Retaining walls and slopes

Stabilising a slope or retaining wall with screw piles

Is the ground starting to slide along a railway, a road, a bank or in your garden? Digging into a slope that is already moving often makes it worse. We screw piles in without loosening the ground, even where no large machine can get.

Row of galvanised screw piles on a vegetated slope

Why no concrete?

  • No digging in ground that is already moving
  • Vibration-free, even right next to a railway or building
  • Compact and electric machines for narrow paths, craned in if needed
  • Piles down to firm ground, for example 8 m deep
  • Ready to load at once

Which foundation?

Piles side by side

Galvanised threaded piles close together form a wall that holds the ground back.

Piles with a beam

A beam or plate on the piles supports sheeting or gabions.

Design

Your engineer calculates the earth pressures. We supply the pile data and install them.

How it works

How it works on site

  1. AssessmentWe look at the slope, access and soil data.
  2. Machine in placeOn a narrow path we work with a compact electric machine, craned in if needed.
  3. Screwing inThe piles go down to firm ground, with a record per pile.
  4. FinishingThen the rest of the wall or sheeting follows.

Frequently asked questions

Can a screw pile retaining wall go in a garden?

Yes. With a hand-held or compact machine it also works in a sloping garden.

How deep do the piles go?

Down to a layer firm enough. Along the railway in Limburg that was 8 m.

Who designs the wall?

Your engineer or design office. We provide the pile capacity data and carry out the work.
