Container foundation

Container units and offices on screw piles

Container offices, site units or battery containers must go in fast and stand perfectly level, often temporarily. Screw piles replace the concrete slab: ready to load at once and fully removable later.

Stacked container offices on screw piles in a port area

Why no concrete?

  • No concrete slab and hardly any earthworks
  • Level to a few millimetres with levelling plates
  • Ready to load at once, even on soft or made ground
  • Also stacked, for several levels of units
  • Fully removable when the units leave

Which foundation?

Screw piles with head plate

One screw pile per corner or support, with a head plate the container rests on.

With a steel frame

For heavy containers, such as a 44-tonne battery container, a steel frame goes on the piles.

Based on CPT soundings

For larger projects we start from CPT soundings and the manufacturer's product data, with your engineer.

Frequently asked questions

Why no concrete slab under containers?

A slab needs excavation, formwork and curing. Screw piles can be loaded at once and disappear completely when the units leave.

Can containers be stacked?

Yes. The piles are chosen for the loads per support, also for several levels.

How level will the container stand?

With levelling plates on the pile heads we align to within 1 to 2 mm.
