Hot tub and pool foundation

A hot tub, spa or pool deck on screw piles

A filled hot tub or spa weighs a lot, and that weight sits on a small area. An ordinary terrace is not always designed for it. With a grid of screw piles or ground screws under the tub, everything stays stable and level.

Why no concrete?

  • Carries the weight of a filled tub, even on a raised deck
  • Perfectly level, important for a tub full of water
  • No concrete slab and no digging in your garden
  • Combines with a timber terrace or deck around it
  • Removable later if the tub moves

Which foundation?

Extra piles under the tub

A hot tub is a point load. Our pile calculator does not include it, so we calculate it separately with your tub's data.

Terrace or deck around

Around it goes an ordinary grid, as for a terrace.

Pool deck

A timber deck around an above-ground pool also goes on screw piles.

Frequently asked questions

Can a hot tub go on a timber deck?

Yes, with extra piles under the tub, calculated for the weight of the filled tub.

Why does the calculator not include a hot tub?

A hot tub is a point load the calculator does not include. Send us the data and we calculate it separately.

Does the base need to be level?

Yes. With screw piles all heads are at the same height, even if the garden slopes.
