Resin injection for infrastructure: lifting without a long closure

An approach slab sinking behind a bridge, concrete slabs at a level crossing or bus lane that are no longer flat, a tunnel that settles: in infrastructure every hour of closure counts. With expanding resin we lift slabs and structures without breaking them out, with millimetre control.

Pedestrian tunnel in Callenelle being lifted with resin

Where is it used?

  • Approach slabs behind bridges and structures
  • Concrete slabs at level crossings, bus lanes and loading docks
  • Pedestrian and cycle tunnels
  • Voids under concrete slabs caused by washout
  • Foundations of small structures and retaining walls

Case: the Callenelle tunnel

In Callenelle we lifted a pedestrian tunnel under the railway by 19 cm, in 36 hours of non-stop injection under continuous laser control. Nothing was demolished.

Why resin for infrastructure?

  • No demolition and no new slab that has to cure
  • After about 15 minutes the resin has 90% of its final strength
  • Work in short windows, also at night or at weekends
  • Small drill holes of 12 to 16 mm, the surfacing stays in place
  • Light material: about 85 kg/m³, hardly any extra load on the ground

With serious damage, have a structural engineer assess the situation. Soiltek is a specialist contractor: we record, measure, propose a technique and carry out the repair, in consultation with your engineer.

What can we do?

Deep Lift

Expanding resin strengthens the ground under the foundation, without digging.

Slab Lift

Sunken concrete floors back to level.

Frequently asked questions

How soon can traffic go over it?

After about 15 minutes the resin has 90% of its final strength. When the road or track reopens is agreed in advance with the asset owner.

How accurate is the lifting?

We measure continuously with lasers and adjust per injection point, to the millimetre.

Do you work for public bodies and contractors?

Yes. Send us plans or photos and the available work windows, and we will make a proposal.

Not sure?

Send us a few photos of the cracks and the surroundings of your house. We will look, with no obligation, at what may be going on.
