What determines the price of a foundation or repair?

A price per pile says little without knowing how many piles, how long and how accessible. These are the factors that really set the price, so you can compare quotes fairly.

Finished garden office with a large glazed front

For a new foundation

  • The number of piles or ground screws, which follows from the size, weight and bearers
  • The length and type: the deeper the bearing ground, the longer or heavier the pile
  • Access: can a tracked machine get there, or does it take hand-held machines through a narrow passage
  • Whether you install yourself with a rented machine or have us install

For foundation repair

  • The number of push piers, usually one every 1.5 to 2 m under the settled walls
  • The depth of the bearing layer
  • Whether lifting is needed too
  • Access and how close a truck can get to the house
  • For resin: the number of injection points and the area

What you save

With a screw pile foundation, digging, soil removal, formwork and waiting time disappear. For smaller projects it is therefore often cheaper than concrete. With a repair from the outside you do not have to move out.

Comparing a quote

  • Does it state the number, type and length of the piles?
  • Is there a check per pile, such as torque or jacking pressure?
  • Do you get an installation report?
  • Has the cause of the subsidence been investigated?

Soiltek is a specialist contractor, not an engineering firm. We provide the manufacturer's product data and align the pile proposal with your structural engineer.
